New Jersey Retired Police & Firemen's Association
Local 9
Brothers and sisters:
Great News for all those that have been affected by WEP or GPO . Shortly after midnight last night the Senate voted and approved HR 82. The Vote was 76 aye 20 nay ! The Bill now goes to the White House for final approval by the President .
For those of you affected by WEP or GPO after the President signs this bill you should start receiving your full Social Security payment. Please pass this information on to widows and widowers because their benefit should also go up.
This all will only take effect provided you paid into Social Security !
From My Wife and I we wish you all a Happy Holiday Season, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or whatever you may celebrate; and a Prosperous New Year.
Remember our next meeting will be on January 8th 2025 !
